The Maxxi Museum is dedicating a show to Le Corbusier (the pseudonym of Charles-Édouard Jeanneret), the brilliant architect-sculptor-painter. The exposition features over 600 original drawings, sketches, water paintings, paintings and photographs and adopts a chronological and thematic format to document the many influences Italy had upon the training and work of this master: from his first trips at the beginning of the 20^th century to the projects – which never went into construction – for the Olivetti Electronic Calculation Centre in Rho and the hospital in Venice of the 1960’s. The exhibit unwinds among a variety of documents, travel diaries, studies, cultural exchanges and personal aspirations.
