This year’s edition features a programme enriched by the collaboration of the Constructo Association of Santiago, Chile. The Carlo Bilotti Museum in Rome is paying tribute to this great artist, focusing substantial attention on his activity as collector.  The exhibit traces the history of the second half of the 20^th century surrounding Afonso who was friend and colleague to such artists as Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Candido Portinari, Giorgio de Chirico, Max Jacob and Fernand Legér. The works chosen for the expo are linked to the Baroque-style atmosphere of the city and metaphysical expression with the intention of illustrating the influence of De Chirico on the artist’s idiom. A second Italian exhibition will follow in Venice for the occasion of the Architecture Biennale that will place emphasis on Nadir Afonso as architect and artist along with his collaboration with two great architects: Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer.
