DeChirico

Rome’s Palazzo delle Esposizioni is dedicating an important tribute to the great Italian master, founder of the school of Metaphysical Art.
The exhibit is offering an original opportunity to become familiar with his art by admiring his masterpieces through the painter’s view of the world of Nature.
De Chirico was born in 1888 in Volos, the heart of Classical Greece, to Italian parents. He dedicated his entire life to the poetic exploration of an art aimed at making the enigmatic quality of reality emerge.
The purpose of the “La Natura secondo de Chirico” exhibit in Rome is to present an occasion for a new critical élan, a re-reading of works by the 20th–century master through the central theme of his poetics. The idea of Nature remains a constant reference: whether it is being idealized (as in his mythological landscapes) or it is being rejected (as in the emotionless geometries of his mannequins).
The exhibit is edited by distinguished art critic Achille Bonito Oliva and features 120 paintings from the most illustrious public and private collections, arranged in a rich and evocative itinerary in the galleries alongside Rome’s monumental Rotonda di Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
