ROMA CAPUT MUNDI

The Special Superintendence for Rome’s Archaeological Heritage is telling the story of Ancient Rome’s political and cultural expansion for the very first time through an exhibition. The Coliseum, the Curia Julia and the Temple of Caesar in the Roman Forum are the areas in which the exhibit takes place: from the origins of Rome to the conquest of Italy and her provinces; the cultural and religious influx; slavery and the ethnic melting pot; ancient and modern visions. All of these concepts are displayed through sculptures, reliefs, mosaics, fresco paintings, bronzes and coins can be viewed in the exhibit’s three hosting areas.
