“Nel selvaggio mondo degli scrittori” (In the Wild World of Writers) is a fascinating exhibit dedicated to Roman photographer Roberto Nistri. The photographs tell of the intimate sides of ninety-nine protagonists of Italian fiction. Men and women whose iconography is too often stereotyped, conventional and almost taken by force for use by editorial marketing. Nistri, on the other hand, shows them to us in their “natural habitat” and as far away as possible from the glacial composure of a classic authorial portrait. The author created brief captions to accompany his shots. His creativity is entrusted with the task of explaining his choice of shooting location – be it a geographic or psychological one.
